Conclusions were easy to draw after the Sales Romances album, I had to come bak to my previous kind of line up, back to a four piece Power Pop combo and eventually hire in some side muscicians for special arrangements once in the studio..

I contacted Nicolas Hilling & François Dumy, bass & drums, they were playing with a different band: "Go Go Pigalles", and they could be as good as the Clash rythm section with an XTC & Police kinda edge in their grooves
Then we added a good guitar player:Phil Loiseau et Extraballe Mark 4 was born.

Escape to Normandy, a few miles from Deauville, we rented a house and ended up plating all day and all night getting all new songs in shape to be recorded.

During that period, An experimented Clash City Rocker feeling was with me all the time and I keep a fond recall of these moments. We all knew by now the subtle differences of Cold Wave, from Throbbing Gristle to Magazine, the extremely elegant Japan sound and the strange Tubeway Army overtones, Cramps, Straycats garbage alley ways.We had a huge data bank of musical spices.

The Celebration on the grey lagoon was about to begin...
